Digital Transformation Plan is one of the long-term strategies of the Ministry of Education to make digital learning a new norm in our education system. According to the Minister of Education, the plan underlines three main areas which are Education Technology, Management Technology, and Enabling Policies and Infrastructure. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman underlined the matter at the Ministerial Event on Recover Learning and Rebuild Education in the ASEAN Region and ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting, ASED and the Chairmanship Ceremonial Turnover.

 Yang Berhormat also shared Brunei Darussalam's key initiatives tackling the issue of 'Access to Education' during the pandemic, as well as the Ministry of Education's efforts in the Digital Transformation Plan.

The event also saw the ASED Chairmanship Ceremonial Turnover of the Philippines to Viet Nam, where the achievements of the ASEAN education sector from 2020 to 2021 and ongoing initiatives were highlighted. The panel discussions were attended by Education Ministers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand while Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar and Viet Nam were represented by their Deputy Ministers. With the theme 'Recover Learning and Rebuild Education in the ASEAN' the Ministerial Panel Discussion was the first ministerial event under the Chairmanship of Viet Nam in the Education Sector, where the delegation shared knowledge gained from lessons learnt, presented outcomes of past and current interventions, as well as forming cross-region partnerships which will benefit the region as a whole.
