The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday commemorated Hari Raya Aidiladha by holding a Korban ceremony which was jointly organised by the Syariah Affairs Department, Islamic Da'wah Centre and Policy, Planning and Research Section. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health's Multaqa Hall.

Seven cows, two buffaloes and four goats were sacrificed and the portions of the meat were distributed to 100 recipients that comprised the poor, destitute and Muallaf registered under the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.

They received the meat from the Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.

Meanwhile, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and his spouse Datin Hajah Zaliha binti Haji Omar also distributed the sacrificial meat to officers under MoRA.

Employees under MoRA also received the sacrificial meat that was distributed by the Permanent Secretary at the MoRA, Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof and his spouse Datin Hajah Nurliyana binti Mohd A'rif Lim.

Also present during the ceremony were deputy permanent secretaries, senior officers, officers and staff.
