NA’s Vice President Visits Sithandone Speicial Economic Zone

VIENTIANE
(KPL) Vice President of the National Assembly Sounthone Sayachak visited the the Sithandone Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Champassak Province on Mar 16.
The economic zone has been under construction since 2018, according to Vice President of the Sithandone Joint Development Co., Ltd, Mr Outhai Keochaiyom.
Achievements have been made since then. These include the successful construction of Mesvedon Hotel which sits on the Mekong Riverbanks near the border of Champassak Province of Laos and Strung Treng Province of Cambodia.
This hotel is also close to Khonephapheng, the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia.
“This project is also investing in developing roads, residential facilities, water supply facilities, an airport, a hospital, and other facilities,” said Mr Outhai Keochaiyom.
“As for this year, our company will continue to increase investing in basic infrastructure development, including building resettlement facilities, agricultural demonstration centres, an embankment along the Mekong, renovating Khonephapheng waterfall tourist site and constructing 238-metre-high Twin Khen Hotel.
Khen is a popular musical instrument of Laos.
