New Covid Cases Fall For Fourth Day To 21,382 Tuesday, 83 Deaths

BANGKOK

 

The country registered 83 more Covid-19 fatalities and 21,382 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Tuesday morning.

 

The new caseload declined for the fourth consecutive day from Friday's all-time high of 27,071, and was 2,059 lower than the 23,441 new cases reported on Monday morning.

 

Five fewer deaths were recorded in the 24-hour period.

 

All but 58 of the new infections were transmitted inside Thailand. 

 

On Monday, 24,824 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 236,814 others were receiving treatment (down from 240,339 on the previous day).

 

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 3,398,792 Covid-19 cases, including 1,175,357 this year, with 3,137,561 complete recoveries to date.

 

The accumulated death toll stood at 24,417 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 2,719 so far this year.

 

The highest number of Covid-related fatalities in a 24-hour period was 312 recorded on Aug 13, 2021. The highest number of cases was 27,071 on March 18.
