The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah greet the Tamil and Sikh communities in the country Happy Chithirai and Happy Vaisakhi, respectively.

 

Through a posting on the Istana Negara Facebook on Thursday (April 14), Their Majesties also wished both the communities a peaceful, happy and prosperous life.

 

May this festival bring peace, happiness and prosperity to the Tamil and Sikh communities in Malaysia, according to the post.

 

Chithirai is a new year celebration for the Tamil community, while Vaisakhi is a new year celebration for the Sikh community and both the festivals are celebrated today. – Bernama
