Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

1,693 doses of vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on the 16th of April 2022, bringing the total vaccinations administered to 11,183 doses, which is 26.1 per cent of children in this age group. Meanwhile, 62.8 per cent of the country's population have received three doses of the vaccine. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation in the country yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

176 new cases have been reported, in which 143 cases were results from ART tests and 33 cases were results of 1,043 RT-PCR laboratory tests. Therefore, the total cases reported in Brunei Darussalam to date is 140,023 cases. There is one case categorised in Category 5, and one case in Category 4. 236 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 138,403 cases.

 

There are 1,402 active cases, in which 50 are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 1,352 cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation. In the past 24 hours, 1 COVID-19 case has passed away, in which the case is categorised as death due to COVID-19.
