Bestowment of Personal Gifts

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow personal gifts to a total of 20,728 recipients in the country, comprising of those with special needs, orphans, the poor, and those who receive monthly welfare assistance in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this year simultaneously in the four districts starting today, Sunday, 17th of April 2022 and to resume on Tuesday, 19th of April 2022 onwards. This is the thirteenth times of such event being held with the objective to alleviate burdens of the under-privileged in this country.

 

There are 13,563 recipients from the Brunei Muara District, 3,375 recipients from Belait District, 2,883 recipients from Tutong District and 907 recipients from Temburong District, who will be receiving the personal gifts of His Majesty this year.

 

In view of the current situation, and in safeguarding the welfare of various parties from the spread of COVID-19, distribution of His Majesty's personal gifts will again be delivered directly to the recipients at their respective houses in the four districts as performed previously in 2020.

 

For this purpose, a total of 103 groups comprising of 515 officials from the government, including Uniformed Agencies, the Islamic Bank of Brunei Darussalam, BIBD, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation will be involved in the distribution of His Majesty's personal gifts as well as the involvement and cooperation of various relevant Government Linked Companies, GLCs including Data Stream Digital Sendirian Berhad, DST. The collective cooperation of various parties are highly appreciated in efforts to ensure the distribution of His Majesty's personal gifts to the under-privileged groups will be implemented in an organised manner and in line with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's wishes to see the vulnerable groups in this country also receiving similar care and affections from His Majesty in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
