The International Congress of the Malay Language, Literature and Culture Series held virtually in conjunction with the Language Month continued this week with the 9th Presentation Series. It was organised by the Language and Literaure Bureau through the Language Construction and Development Division

The congress was joined by Awang Suip bin Haji Abd. Wahab, Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau. More than 110 people joined the virtual event. The literature Keynote Address titled 'Feminisme Dalam Perkembangan Kesusasteraan Melayu or Feminism in the Development of Malay Literature was delivered by Dayang Hajah Aminah binti Haji Momin, Former Director of Language and Literature Bureau. Among others, she explained on the image of women and female characters in novels written and illustrated by Malay and Muslim male writers. In addition, the presentation also explores on women's position from the Islamic perspective which upholds the dignity of women as well as the view of feminist movement in several countries standing up for equal rights between both genders.
