Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

1,314 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on the 26th of April 2022, bringing the total vaccinations administered to 18,643 doses, which is 43.4 percent. The Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar also stated that some of the children in this age group have also started receiving the second dose of the vaccine, a total of 346 doses were administered which covered 0.8 percent of children. Meanwhile, the coverage rate for the country's population who have received three doses of the vaccine is at 64.7%.

 

Yang Berhormat also said that a total of 126 new cases have been reported, in which 115 cases were results from ART tests and 11 cases were from 765 RT-PCR lab tests performed. Therefore, the total number of cases reported in Brunei Darussalam to date is 141,531 cases. There are 2 cases in Category 5 and 1 case in Category 4. 173 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 140,422 cases. The total number of active cases are 891 cases, in which 20 cases are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 871 cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation.
