The Al-Quran khatam programme organized by Wargamas Association this year is a very significant initiative for all senior citizens to further improve the reading of the Al-Quran as a daily practice. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office outlined the matter at the 75 Times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony and the 76 Times Khatam Launching Ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Birthday Celebration. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud added, such a programme is also suitable for the elderly to attain blessings from Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. The ceremony took place at the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.

Earlier, the ceremony began with the 75 Times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony. It coincided with the launching of 76 Times Khatam Al-Quran and commenced with the mass reading of Surah Al-Baqarah Verses 1 to 16.
