Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

1,708 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on 7th May 2022, taking the total first dose of the vaccine administered to 24,530 doses or 57.2 per cent. The Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar also stated that 1,194 second doses of the vaccine were given to the age group, bringing the total second dose administered to 3,582, which is 8.3 per cent. Meanwhile, 66.3 per cent of the country's total population have received three doses of the vaccine.

 

231 new cases were reported, in which 224 were results from ART tests and 7 were from 338 RT-PCR laboratory tests. To date, total cases reported in the country is 142,858. Two cases are in Category 4, while 133 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 141,806. 833 cases remain active, whereby 11 are currently being treated in hospitals and 822 are on home self-isolation.
