Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

132 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on 24th May 2022, bringing the total first dose vaccinations administered to 79.1 percent. Meanwhile, 783 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered to children in the same age group bringing the total second dose administered to children in this age group to 40.1 percent.

 

This was stated by the Second Minister of Defence at the Media Conference on the latest COVID-19 Situation, yesterday afternoon. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof also informed that 69.9 percent of the country's population have received a third dose of the vaccine. The media conference took place at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

250 new cases have been reported, which is 244 cases were results from ART tests and 6 cases were results of 298 RT-PCR laboratory tests. Therefore, the total number of cases reported in Brunei Darussalam to date is 147,271 cases. There is 1 case in Category 5, those who require treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Meanwhile there is no case in Category 4. A total of 261 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 145,427 cases. The total number of active cases are 1,622 cases, in which 14 cases are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 1,608 cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation.
