Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

133 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on 25th May 2022, bringing the total first dose vaccinations administered to 79.4 percent. Meanwhile, 831 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered to children in the same age group bringing the total second dose administered to children in this age group to 42.1 percent.

 

This was stated by the Second Minister of Defence at the Media Conference on the latest COVID-19 Situation, yesterday afternoon. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof also informed that 70 percent of the country's population have received a third dose of the vaccine. The media conference took place at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

222 new cases have been reported, in which all were results from ART tests. Therefore, the total number of cases reported in Brunei Darussalam to date is 147,493. 267 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 145,694 cases. The total number of active cases are 1,576, in which 6 cases are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 1,570 cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation. In the past 24 hours, 1 COVID-19 case has passed away, in which the case is categorised as death not due to COVID-19.

 

Following the current situation of COVID-19 in the country is currently under control and taking into account the percentage of vaccinations in Brunei Darussalam is of satisfactory level, the Tutong District Community Hall Vaccination Centre will be closed starting Monday, 30th May 2022. With the closure of the Vaccination Centre, commencing Wednesday, 1st June 2022, residents in the Tutong District who wish to get their COVID-19 vaccinations can go to the government Health Centres in the Tutong District or at the Vaccination Unit, Tutong District Health Office. They are advised to book an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccination at the health facility.
