The United States Food and Drug Administration, USFDA, has recalled the JIF brand of Peanut Butter, due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority, BDFA's Press Release also stated that Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can cause food poisoning if found in foods such as meat, poultry, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and processed foods if hygiene aspects are ignored or the food is not processed properly. BDFA has contacted the importer of the brand's product in Brunei Darussalam and confirmed that the brand is not imported into the country.
