A search-and-rescue operation has been mounted to look for a farmer, 68, who has been reported missing after he failed to return home from the jungle near his farm on Thursday night.
A Fire and Rescue Department party comprising seven officers and men was deployed yesterday to look for Sitimbang Asrail after he failed to return home after entering a jungle near Kpg Pengkalan Rejab in search of ‘assam paya’ a while palm fruit.
They reached the scene, about 10km from the town, at 12.10pm but due to heavy rain they could only start the search at 1pm.
Prior to this, family members and fellow villagers have been searching for him but to no avail.
