The ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation, AMMSTI, platform, has the potential to help build a resilient infrastructure, which promotes inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic development by taking the opportunity of the close ties shared among ASEAN Member States to enhance cooperation in research and development, including the deployment and adoption of technologies. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications stated the matter at the 19th AMMSTI via video conference.
Yang Berhormat Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha also shared on the development and commitment of Brunei Darussalam towards achieving the SDGs through several initiatives including the establishment of the Electric Vehicles Joint Task Force and the launch of the Green Protocol in support of Brunei Darussalam's National Climate Change Policy. The Meeting also exchanged views on leveraging science, technology and innovation towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and driving the transition to a low-carbon economy through the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology.
Before AMMSTI-19, the 81st ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, COSTI-81 Meeting was held on 13 until 14 of June, joined by Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications as the National Chairman of Brunei Darussalam for ASEAN COSTI.
