​The interactive discussion during the Energy Symposium also underscored the importance of the collective efforts by local, regional and global bodies in promoting the fundamental and applied approaches in progressing towards a more resilient energy future.

 

Yesterday afternoon, the Symposium continued with the topic 'Venturing to Energy Transition" delivered by international and Bruneian speakers. They among others shared on market demands and the future of renewable energy. Present was Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office.

 

The session continued with the topic on 'Gearing up local talents in the energy sector" which described an overview of the strategies and plans from the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office and stakeholders in developing local talents to enter the downstream projects, upskilling programmes and collaboration between the industry and institutions.

 

Yesterday morning, the topic on "Resilience to the New Norm", featuring four panellists, showcased the oil and gas companies' positive adaptation during and post the adverse situation of COVID-19 through acceleration of digital transformation, impact on logistics and safety in the workplace, changing their operational approach, investing in technology and attracting new talents continue and improve the business.
