Within the past week, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country has shown a slight increase where the number of cases detected is over 500 cases per day, with over 99% were detected through ART. This was stated by the Minister of Health at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said, however, the number of cases in Category 4 and Category 5 remains low. Yesterday, one case is categorised in Category 5 and one case in Category 4.

 

Within the past week, the COVID-19 vaccination coverage has continued to increase. 72.3 percent of the country's population have received the third dose of vaccine, while 5.2 percent have also received the fourth dose. 71.4 percent vaccination of second doses were administered to children aged 5 to 11. However, only 48.5 percent of those aged 12 to 17 have received the third dose vaccination. Meanwhile, 751 new cases have been reported, in which all the cases were results from ART, with no cases detected through 182 RT-PCR lab tests performed in the past 24 hours. 450 cases have recovered, with 4,129 cases remain active. In the past 24 hours, 2 COVID-19 cases have passed away, where they are categorised as death not due to COVID-19.
