The Office of the Vice President (OVP) will hold its “final” general assembly under the leadership of Vice President Leni Robredo next Monday, June 27, her spokesperson disclosed.

Vice Presidential spokesman Barry Gutierrez said the assembly could be held at the Quezon City Reception House in the hopes that Vice President-elect Sara Duterte will be able to attend.

The QCRH is Robredo’s official residence for the past six years. This is where her successor will also hold office on a temporary basis starting at noon of June 30.

“Sa [June] 27 magkakaroon ng general assembly ang Office of the Vice President—huling general assembly sa pamumuno ni VP Leni (On June 27 the Office of the Vice President will have a general assembly—the last general assembly under the leadership of VP Leni),” he said during Robredo’s weekly radio show over dzXL.

“At sa aking pagkakaalam, nag-extend ng imbitasyon kay VP-elect Sara na mag-attend kung kaniyang gugustuhin (To my knowledge, an invitation has been already extended to VP-elect Sara if she wishes to attend),” Gutierrez added.

The spokesperson noted the past meetings between the transition teams of the outgoing and incoming vice presidents, but Robredo and Duterte have yet to meet in person.

He mentioned the “walkthrough tour” given by Robredo to Duterte’s team during their visit to the OVP earlier this month.

“Maayos naman ang koordinasyon, maayos naman ang pag-uusap. Smooth naman ang ating nagiging transition, at ‘yan naman ang ating talagang pakay sa puntong ito. At handang-handa na para sa pagpapalit ng pamumuno sa noon ng June 30 (The coordination is orderly, the talks are going well. Our transition is smooth and that’s our real goal at this point. We are very ready for the change of leadership at noon of June 30),” he said.

Duterte took her oath as the country’s 15th vice president on Sunday, June 19, at San Pedro Square in Davao City—her hometown, where she is the outgoing mayor.

As part of the transition, Gutierrez said they’ve already turned over all the reports related to Robredo’s programs, among which are Angat Buhay, Bayanihan E-Konsulta and other Covid-19 initiatives, to the staff of the Vice President-elect.

“Bahala na sila kung ano ang gagawin nila doon, kung sila ay magpapatuloy nong mga programa, o sila ay gagawa ng bagong programa o anumang desisyon na gagawin nila ukol sa pagpapalakad at operasyon ng OVP (It’s up to them on what they will do with it, whether or not they will continue the programs, or they will make a new program or any decision regarding the operations of the OVP),” he said.
