Formative Assessment or Assessment for Learning and the use of data is important to plan and implement effective learning recovery strategies and programmes for students. According to the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education, the Assessment for Learning is hoped to be implemented continuously and the use of data should be emphasised by all educators in assessing and monitoring student learning gaps, particularly as the country is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman said this at the Dialogue Session for the Ministry of Education's Heads of Departments with School Leaders, in conjunction with the 4th School Leaders' Convention 2022, yesterday morning. The dialogue session included a presentation and workshop on 'School Based Assessment'. This year, the dialogue session carried the theme "Quality Leaders, Quality Education" and focused on assessment as a sub-theme. The dialogue session was conducted by the Department of Educators Management as a continuation of the School Leaders' Convention held last February.
