BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A Bangladeshi was brought before the Magistrates Court yesterday for an offence under Section 146(1)(d) of the Excise Order 2006.

Abdul Hoque Faraji was sentenced 7 months imprisonment after failing to pay the fine. The defendant pleaded guilty to possessing 9 cartons of cigarettes in a house in Kuala Belait, Belait District. The defendant was unable to pay the fine and was ordered to be incarcerated starting yesterday.
