BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, continues to be given priority by the government in together developing the country's economy. It is in line with one of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 objectives, towards a dynamic and resilient economy that also includes the progress of MSMEs. In conjunction with His Majesty's 76th Birthday Celebration, we bring you a report on the determination of Micro. Small and medium entrepreneurs in continuing their business especially when faced with challenging times.

Local business prospects involve Micro. Small and medium entrepreneurs who are seen to be able to establish brand value and reputation as well as partnerships.  The opportunity given to MSMEs is certainly highly expected through the support of agencies and corporate bodies in the country who want to see economic progress based on the people of Brunei.

There is no denying that the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging to MSMEs.  Despite the challenges, local entrepreneurs were determined to continue their businesses by conducting it online.

The government continuously provides assistance and encouragement to local entrepreneurs, among others, through training and financing. This is to enable MSMEs to continue to grow.

Continuous support and promotion for MSME products is needed to ensure that local brand products not only receive encouraging responses in the domestic market but are also able to penetrate the overseas markets.
