MUARA
The U.S. Navy's Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, USS Higgins DDG 76, is currently berthed at the Muara Port until today, in honour of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 76th birthday celebration. Yesterday morning, Her Excellency Caryn Roberta McClelland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Brunei Darussalam and other foreign dignitaries to Brunei Darussalam were welcomed on board the ship.
Brunei Darussalam is the USS Higgin's first foreign port of call after the COVID 19 pandemic. This routine port of call highlights the United States continued cooperation with Brunei Darussalam. The visit also served as an opportunity to demonstrate the type of capabilities that the USS Higgins can provide while deployed to the U.S. Seventh Fleet area of responsibility.
