A local man was fined by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for an offence under Section 146, 1 of the Excise Order 2006.

28 year-old, Ali Mahdi bin Suhaimi was fined $23,500 or 13 months imprisonment in default for possessing 19 cartons and 118 packets of various brands of cigarettes and cash money amounting $75. The arrest was made on the 29th of June 2021 at a house in the Lambak Kanan Housing Scheme. The accused was given until the 22nd of February 2023 to settle the fine.
