BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Every day, petrol station attendants, also known as Service Champions, often face various challenges while on duty. This includes ensuring safety at the petrol stations for all, including the public and visitors. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications said several guidelines and regulations specifically for protecting petrol station attendants have been introduced. However, non-compliance with the said guidelines and regulations will expose the Service Champions, customers and visitors to risks of unwanted incident. Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications stated the matter yesterday morning at the launching of the Fill Safe, Feel Safe campaign.

Yang Berhormat also urged Brunei Shell Marketing Sendirian Berhad, BSM and petrol station operators to continue monitor safety performance at petrol stations, and take necessary action towards any non-compliance. The minister added challenges faced at petrol stations are not new, but they must also be persistent, persevere and be innovative in finding new solutions

At the event, petrol station operators received campaign posters to promote and create awareness on safety at petrol stations to the public. The campaign was a collaboration between the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam and B-S-M towards raising safety awareness continuously at petrol stations.
