MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex here to lend her support to her husband Datuk Seri Najib Razak in his 1MDB trial.

Clad in pink baju kurung, Rosmah arrived in a black Proton Perdana at 12.22pm.

Beside Rosmah, Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa and a few of the former prime minister's supporters are also present in court to show their support for him.

The court is currently on a break for lunch.

Najib had arrived at 8.26am Thursday (Aug 25) for his RM2.28bil 1MDB trial.

This is Najib's first appearance in court since being sent to prison on Tuesday (Aug 23) following the Federal Court's dismissal of his final appeal in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case.

On Tuesday, Najib became the first former prime minister in the country's history to be sent to prison after the Federal Court upheld the High Court's conviction and sentence.

On July 28, 2020, the Kuala Lumpur High Court sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail and a total fine of RM210mil after being found guilty of seven charges of criminal breach of trust, money laundering and abuse of position in the RM42mil SRC International case.
