MALAYSIA

PUTRAJAYA: Civil servants will get an additional RM100 in their annual increment to be paid starting January next year.

This move will benefit some 1.2 million public officers under Grade 11 to Grade 56.

This was among a slew of announcements made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the annual civil servants gathering on Tuesday (Aug 30).

"I would like to assure civil servants that the government is aware of their concerns.

"Hence, the government agrees that a study on the civil service salary scale be expedited," he said.

The Prime Minister also said that civil servants could look forward to a special financial aid of RM700, also to be paid in January 2023.

The aid would be paid to those holding Grade 56 and below.

Ismail Sabri said pensioners and non-pensionable veterans would also enjoy special aid payment of RM350.

"I will like to express my gratitude to civil servants for ensuring that the government machinery remains effective and that policies are executed to benefit the people," he said.

Also present were Cabinet Ministers and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
