BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia is getting stronger and more robust, despite facing the challenging situation of recent years with the continuity of meetings, mutual visits and new commitments taking place in various fields. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam stated the matter during the Diplomatic Reception to commemorate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day Anniversary, 13th September night.

Representing His Majesty's government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

His Excellency Doctor Sujatmiko in his speech also expressed his appreciation to His Majesty on the opportunity given to the country's Migrant Workers to live and work in Brunei. The ceremony was enlivened with a dance performance, cooking and mini handicraft exhibition. The event was the culmination of a series of activities organised to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence and held for the first time in two years since the COVID-19 pandemic.
