Media Conference on Latest COVID-19 Situation

 In the past one week, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam has shown a slight increase where the average daily rate of cases in the last week was at an average rate of about 215 cases per day compared to 179 cases per day the week before. However, the infection trend shows transmission remains low. A total of 46,728 ART test results were uploaded to the BruHealth application within one week of which 3.2 per cent were positive ART tests. This was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health, 19th September afternoon.

 

 There is no case in Category 5 requiring treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, while 3 cases are in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring. As of yesterday, 18th of September 2022, the rate of vaccination coverage of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam remains at a high level with 78.3 per cent of all citizens and residents of the country having received the 3rd dose of the vaccine and 10.3 per cent also having received the 4th dose. 215 new cases have been reported, of which 209 are the result of ART tests and 6 cases are the result of 480 RTPCR laboratory tests.
