Brunei Darussalam Is Currently In the Inter-Monsoon Period

Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Inter-Monsoon period.  The country's weather condition is still forecasted to be active until Saturday, 15th of October 2022.  This condition is expected to cause occasional gusty showers, especially at sea and may at times affect the land areas.  The matter was shared by the Acting Head of Meteorological Officer during an interview with RTB, yesterday afternoon.

 

According to Awang Hassanul Kamal Bin Haji Adam, weather conditions are still expected to be active which is caused by the influence of a low pressure system that forms in the South China Sea area. This situation is expected to because rain storms that occasionally occur and across the country, especially in the countries waters and occasionally affect land areas. During or near rainstorms, wind speeds can increase up to 50 kilometres per hour in land areas and reach up to 60 kilometres per hour in sea areas. While the sea is rough between 2 and 3 metres high, especially from Wednesday, 12th of October 2022 until Friday, 14th of October 2022.

 

Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions with the falling trees and landslide during heavy showers and gusty conditions. Risk of flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river banks during heavy rain and also during high tide. Rough sea conditions are dangerous to all small crafts, and sea recreational activities and sports.
