A last-minute strike from hat trick hero Dalibor Volas gave Pahang a dramatic 4-3 victory at Perak and their first Malaysia Super League (MSL) win of the season.

Pahang are still bottom of the MSL but the result puts them one point behind Sarawak and safety, with four points from seven games.

Vokhid Shodiev put Perak ahead after just nine minutes but just four minutes later Volas equalised. And then, just before the break, the Slovenian striker gave Pahang a timely lead.

Brazilian marksman Elias equalised for the hosts just before the hour only for German Pacheco to restore Pahang's lead midway through the second half.

With 13 minutes remaining, Ahmad Khairil seemed to earn a point for Perak in front of their home fans in Ipoh. But then Volas struck deep into injury time to complete his three-goal haul, and, more importantly, secure a victory that will be a big confidence boost for the struggling Elephants.

Elsewhere, Kedah missed a chance to move into third place above Selangor after being held to a 2-2 draw by Penang in the battle of newly promoted teams at the Darul Aman Stadium.

Both goals for the hosts in Alor Setar came courtesy of Liridon Krasniqi but twice the Panthers fought back to earn a vital point.

The game was the first for Penang after they "rested" coach Jacksen Tiago in midweek following two draws and two defeats after the club's only win of the season so far at home to Pahang.

Kosovar international Krasniqi opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a simple side-footed effort from close range after chaos in the Panthers' defence only for Argentinian Matias Cordoba to equalise for Penang five minutes later.

Krasniqi restored Kedah's lead on the hour but with five minutes remaining, Darwira Sazan rose unchallenged at the far post. He headed home a right-sided corner to earn a vital point for Penang and assistant coach Manzoor Azwira, who stepped into the breach after Tiago's departure.

In the evening's remaining fixture, T-Team climbed into the top half of the table with their second win of the season, a 2-0 triumph in Sarawak.
