PETALING JAYA

A woman burned to death when the car she was travelling in burst into flames after an accident on the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Highway (MEX) on Saturday (Oct 22) morning.

Operation commander Senior Fire Officer II Khairuddin Abdurrahman told Sinar Harian that the fire and rescue department were alerted to the incident at 6.14am Saturday.

"A total of 17 fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene from the Bukit Jalil and Pudu fire stations," he said.

Sinar Harian also reported that the team found that two vehicles had been involved in the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle escaped unhurt while the victim's car was totally destroyed.

"The victim's remains were found in the driver's seat," Khairuddin said, adding that four other passengers escaped with light injuries.

He added that the case has been handed over to the police for further investigations.
