Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah extend Deepavali greetings to all Hindus.
In a post on Istana Negara's official Facebook page on Monday (Oct 24), Their Majesties expressed hopes that Deepavali would bring peace and prosperity to all those observing it.
"Happy Deepavali. May the festival bring the light of peace, prosperity, happiness and togetherness to all Hindus," Their Majesties said in the Facebook post.
Commonly known as the Festival of Lights, the celebration of Deepavali marks the triumph of good over evil, the victory of light over dark.
It is regarded as one of the most important festivals within Hinduism.
