Brunei in the Inter-Monsoon Period

 October 26th, 2022  |  06:44 AM  |   463 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Negara Brunei Darussalam is currently in the inter-monsoon period, where local wind effects play an important role in governing our daily weather. There is no tropical storm or typhoon observed and expected to enter the South China Sea, as well as to approach Negara Brunei Darussalam yesterday.

Active weather is forecasted throughout this week with showers or thundershowers are expected to occasionally cross the country, including the sea areas. This condition is due to the moist atmosphere across our region, which enhances the development of rain clouds and thus increases the rainfall activity. Wind speed may reach up to 50 kilometre per hour during or near heavy showers. Meanwhile, over Brunei waters, sea state is at slight to moderate state, between 0.6 meter to 1.5 meters.  Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions with respect to the forecasted active weather condition.  Latest weather information can also be obtained by contacting the Weather Line 114, by visiting our website at www.met.gov.bn or follow our Facebook and Instagram account @bruneiweather.
