Fall's Biggest Hair Color Trend Is Pretty Low-Key—Right, Gigi Hadid?

Highlights, babylights, ombré, balayage…so many hair coloring trends to know, so little time. Don't even get us started on how much money it takes and what damaged locks go through to achieve these looks.

Lucky for lazy lumps everywhere, fall's biggest hair trend is as low-key as they come. Recently seen on the likes of Gigi Hadid, Rooney Mara and most of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, one-note hair takes a breather from multi-colored tresses. It's one solid color (think: your roots after three months) that looks at both times healthy and dynamic.

"Going into fall, women want to go back to something that is more maintainable," said Justin Anderson, colorist to stars like Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. "An all-over color with roots is a very manageable look for women this fall."

However, it's not a one-step dye job either. To make sure hair doesn't look dull or overly processed, moisture is everything, said the expert, who is responsible for Kristin Cavallari's newly platinum-blond strands.

"It is so important for women with this look to ensure their hair is shiny and conditioned, because without highlights or an ombré your hair will need to show dimension and depth through shiny, vibrant hair. I suggest using dpHUE GLOSS+ Deep Conditioning Treatment to add vibrancy back into the hair and refresh your color in between salon visits. Also, I suggest adding [argan oil] into your routine to add a boost of shine and tame frizz throughout the day.  As you can see, shine is the most important factor here to make this look work."

Hydrated hair and no four-hour long salon appointment? Consider us sold.
