The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) celebrated Ma'al Hijrah 1438 yesterday in an event organised by the Department of Youth and Sports at Digadong Hall of the ministry.

Present as guest of honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The ceremony aimed to enliven the celebration of the Islamic religious event as well as to strengthen ties between officers and staff members of the ministry and its departments.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Haji Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini, Mosque Affairs Officer, followed by a special religious lecture titled `Harta Berkat Negara Selamat', delivered by Pengiran Haji Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, an invited speaker from the Department of Mosque Affairs.

Also present were Dato Paduka Dr Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretaries at the MCYS; Haji Mohd Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MCYS; heads of departments; officers and staff members of MCYS.
