Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has urged the youth to equip themselves with revolutionary ethics and enhance their educational and research capacities.
Addressing a gathering of members of the youth organizations in Vientiane Capital on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of National Independence Day, the Prime Minister asked the youths to be active in organizing sports and art activities, and promoting commercial production, employment and poverty reduction as well as in taking part in maintaining peace and order in the society.
“The Party and government clearly recognize the movements of the youth in contributing to national liberalization and the cause of national protection and development,” said Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
PM Thongloun noted that National Independence Day - October 12, 1945 - was a landmark for Laos and marked the victory of Lao people in their struggle against foreign aggressors and the taking back of the ownership of their motherland.
Independence Day was a great victory for Laos as the world recognised its independence and territory.
“Although the committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth, the youth and young pioneers in particular have significantly contributed to the national protection and development cause, there are a number of challenges regarding youth affairs that you my comrades, children, youth and young pioneers need to take into account,” said the Prime Minister.
