JAKARTA

The South Jakarta District Court sentenced Kuat Ma’ruf, a private chauffeur of disgraced police general Ferdy Sambo, to 15 years in prison on Tuesday for his role in the premeditated murder of Ferdy’s aide-de-camp Brig. Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.

The sentence was nearly double the eight years sought by prosecutors.

The three-member bench said Kuat’s involvement in the murder plot started in Ferdy’s house in Magelang, Central Java, on July 7, a day before Yosua was murdered in Jakarta.
