An Indonesian lecturer who was reported missing in Istanbul, Turkey, after attending an academic conference in Oslo, Norway, has been detected entering the United States via Boston, but neither his university nor his family knows his exact whereabouts.
Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama, a 37-year-old lecturer from Indonesian Islamic University (UII) in Yogyakarta, told his family that he was waiting to board a flight to Istanbul on Feb. 12 before they lost all communication with him.
UII rector Fathul Wahid said in a statement on Sunday night that the Foreign Ministry, based on information provided by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), had found proof that Ahmad entered the US via Boston Logan International Airport on Feb. 13.
