His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, arrived in Ankara to hold a State Visit to the Republic of Turkiye from 6th to 9th March 2023. Diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Turkiye were established on 27th Jun 1984 and since then, both countries have extensive cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, education, culture, and defence.

Upon arrival at Esenboga Airport, His Majesty was welcomed by His Excellency Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkiye. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and His Excellency Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji Kassim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Turkiye.

His Majesty's State Visit to the Republic of Turkiye reaffirms the close bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Turkiye, and further promotes greater cooperation between both countries. His Majesty last visited the Republic of Turkiye for a State Visit on 7th to 11th April 2012.
