In a separate event held earlier this afternoon, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended a Wreath Laying Ceremony that took place at Anıtkabir, Ankara. The Anıtkabir - which was officially opened on 1st September 1953 - is a mausoleum dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the Turkish War of Independence, as well as the founder and first president of the Republic of Türkiye.

The arrival of His Majesty at Anıtkabir was greeted by Colonel Ümit Yücelen, Commander of Anıtkabir. Also present was His Excellency Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye.

His Majesty then laid a wreath at the mausoleum.
