SEU Held One Day Parents Day

The Special Education Unit (SEU) under the Ministry of Education yesterday held a one-day sharing session event to showcase their roles and functions to parents and guardian's whom may have questions about education opportunities for children with special needs.

 


The open day event was held at the SEU's branch in Kuala Belait.

 


Present to deliver the welcoming address was the Acting Head of Educational Psychology Services at the Special Education Unit, Dr Mona Alina binti Dato Paduka Haji Awang Alimin.

 


In her opening remarks she shared the essential processes involved when considering school placement for children with special needs to a crowd of parents and guardians.

 


About 80 parents and guardians were seen attending the event.

 


Also present at the event was Hajah Zaiton binti Haji Damit, Head of the Special Needs Support Services who gave a talk entitled `Education For All'.

 


This was followed by another session where parents and guardians were given the opportunity to intersperse and learn more about the various sections within the SEU through their representing officers.

 

Various special education programmes and support services were also showcased during the event.
