MinDef Personnel Converts to Islam in Tutong

A civilian staff member at the Ministry ofDefence (MinDef) and his wife embraced Islam yesterday, in a ceremony which took place at Kampong Pengkalan Dong, Ukong. It was conducted by officials from the Tutong District Islamic Da'wah Centre.

 

Muzni bin Bangsa, who is now known as Muhammad Muzni bin Abdullah, told the Media that he became interested in Islam through his workplace and because his own children had embraced Islam.

 

He hopes to broaden his knowledge of the Islamic faith, and that his conversion would bring more happiness into the family.

 

Present as the guest of honour was First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence.

 

Also among those present were Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah binti Haji Umar, the Permanent Secretary at the MinDef; Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Captain (Rtd) Haji Mohammad Amirul Shahnoei bin Haji Mohammad Noeh and Captain (Rtd) Abdul Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the MinDef; Haji Harun bin Haji Junid and Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, the Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Colonel Khairul Hamed bin Haji Lampoh, the Commandant of the Training Institute of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer; and Haji Haizul Rizal bin Haji Yahya, the Acting Assistant Tutong District Officer.
