YSEALI Professional Fellowship Accepting Applicants For Spring 2017

The US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam is currently accepting applications from young Bruneians interested in participating in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Spring 2017 Professional Fellows Programme in the United States.

 

 

The YSEALI Professional Fellows Programme is a professional development exchange programme for the best and brightest community leaders from across the Asean region.

 

 

YSEALI Professional Fellows spend five weeks in the United States, including four weeks working directly with American counterparts in individually tailored work placements with non-profit organisations, state and local government, and private-sector offices across the country.

 

This fellowship will focus on one of three themes: Economic Empowerment, Environmental Sustainability, and Legislative Process and Governance/ Civic Engagement.

 

 

Applications for the Economic Empowerment theme are open until November 15, 2016, and applications for the Environmental Sustainability theme and the Legislative Process and Governance/ Civic Engagement theme are open until December 1, 2016.

 

 

US Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Craig Allen, said, "The YSEALI Professional Fellowship is a capacity-building programme not to be missed for young professionals who want to develop their leadership skills, boost their careers, and explore further enrichment and engagement opportunities. Their future contributions to Brunei and will benefit the development of the nation and the region as a whole."

 

 

Applicants must be community leaders aged 25-35, currently employed with at least two years of professional experience at the time of application, and a track record of making an impact in their community, institution, or company. Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.
