The culmination of the National Level Nuzul Al-Qur'an Celebration was the presentation of prizes to winners and participants of the Final of the National Level as well as MABIMS Member Country Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Memorisation and its Understanding for 1444 Hijrah. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the prizes.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as well as the celebration's Executive Committee.

Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons and brothers;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al- Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah;

AND His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

The reading of surah Al- Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

The Minister of Religious Affairs in his welcoming address said that the country's Islamic design remains strong under a monarchical reign. Yang Berhormat Pehin said that we have continuously strived to meet such goals by carrying out national development programmes in all fields according to the Maqasid Syariah that aims to preserve the religion, lives, mind, property and descendants.

The winners of the five categories of the Final of the National Level Al-Qur'an Memorisation and its Understanding recited their memorisations and its understanding. Category A, memorisation of selected surah from Chapter 30 and its understanding for participants aged 13 and below was won by Dayang Amal 'Aziyah binti Muhamad Saiful Ashren.

Meanwhile Dayang ' Alya Fathiyyah binti Haji Abdul Rajid emerged champion of category 'B' which was memorisation of selected Surah namely Surah Luqman, Surah As-Sajdah, Surah Yaasin, Surah Ar-Rahman, Surah Al-Waqi'ah, Suruh Al-Jumu'ah, Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Al-Jinn and Surah Al-Insan as well as the understanding of Surah Al-Kahfi and Surah An- Nur for ages 14 and above.

Category C, memorisation of Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Ali-'Imraan as well as the understanding of Surah An-Nisa' and Surah Al-Maa'idah, which was open to all ages was won by Awang Ahmad Muhammad @ Munir bin Haji Ibrahim.

For Category D, memorisation of 15 Chapters of Al-Qur'an from Chapters 1 to 15 as well as the understanding of Surah Maryam, Surah Thaha, Surah Al-Anbiya and Surah Al-Hajj, which was open to all ages was won by Awang Ahmad Huzaifah bin Haji Awang Hasbi.

Meanwhile Awang Abdul Aziz bin Noor Nasran won Category 'E', memorisation of 30 Chapters of Al-Qur'an as well as the understanding of Surah Al-Mujadalah, Surah Al-Hashr, Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Surah As-Saff, Surah Al-Munafiqun, Surah At-Taghabun, Surah At-Talaq and Surah At-Tahrim, was open to all age levels.

For the MABIMS Member Country Level, the Category for memorisation of 10 Chapters of Al-Qur'an as well as the understanding of Chapter 10 was won by Muhammad Asyraf bin Amir from Malaysia.

Muhammad Bagus Ma'shum from the Republic of Indonesia emerged champion of the Category for memorisation of 30 Chapters of Al-Qur'an as well as understanding of Chapter 24.

His Majesty then presented prizes to the winners. Dayang Amal' Aziyah binti Muhamad Saiful Ashren, champion of Category A took home a $1,500 cash prize. Runner-up was Dayang Nur Soffiyyah Solehah binti Mohammad Fikri and in third place was Dayang Nur Syifa Hasanah binti Mohammad Fikri.

The champion of Category B, Dayang ' Alya Fathiyyah binti Haji Abdul Rajid received a $2,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, Awang Mohammad Firdaus bin Mohammed Salleh came in second place and Dayang Nuramal Shofiyyah binti Irma Shukrin came in third.

The Category C winner, Awang Ahmad Muhammad @ Munir bin Haji Ibrahim took home a $2,800 cash prize. Second place went to Awang Ahmad Darwish bin Hamdan, while Awang Muhamad Faiz Najwan bin Muhamad Saleh placed third.

Winner of Category D, Awang Ahmad Huzaifah bin Haji Awang Hasbi received a $3,500 cash prize. Runner-up was Awang Ahmad Hamizan @ Ahmad Aliridha bin Haji Laidin and Awang Haji Muhammad Bazli Ra'if bin Haji Zulkifli came in third.

Category E's champion, Awang Abdul Aziz bin Noor Nasran received a $5,000 cash prize. Runner-up was Awang Muhammad Adi Syazani bin Shahri and in third place was Awang Mohamed Shahmie bin Mohamed Shalahudeen. All winners received an accompanying prize and participation certificate.

Muhammad Asyraf bin Amir from Malaysia won the MABIMS Member Country Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Memorisation and its Understanding for the 10 Chapters of Al-Qur'an as well as Understanding of Chapter 10 Category, receiving a $4,000 cash prize. Brunei Darussalam's participant, Awang Haji Muhammad Bazli Ra'if bin Haji Zulkifli took second place and the participant from the Republic of Indonesia, Rahmiyatul Khairat came in third.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Bagus Ma'shum from the Republic of Indonesia who won the Memorisation of 30 Chapters of Al-Qur'an as well as Understanding of Chapter 24 Category took home a $7,000 cash prize. Runner-up was Awangku Muhammad Abdul Qadir bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim from Brunei Darussalam and the participant from Malaysia, Afifa Syakirah binti Mohd Radzi came in third. The winners also received an accompanying prize and participation certificate.

A presentation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Doa selepas Membaca Al-Qur'an or Supplication after Reading Al-Qur'an by officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and Economy enlivened the ceremony.

Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

Patient, Strive, Faith and Supplicate in facing all tests with Al-Qur'an's guidance is the theme of this year's celebration.
