The U.S. Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan will hold its third annual public diplomacy event, “Let’s Go America!” on October 28-30 at the Times Square Shopping Center in Jalan Berakas.
The three-day event will showcase higher education opportunities, travel information, cultural exhibitions, and information on doing business in the United States.
Let’s Go America! is open to the public and will feature consultations and registrations for U.S. Embassy programs and services such as EducationUSA for information on studying in the United States; the Fulbright Scholar and Student Programs; the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI); eLibraryUSA for access to online publications, journals, eBooks and multi-media content; and the U.S. visa application process.
The showcase will also include U.S. food, travel, and hotel franchises, as well as a musical performance, cooking demonstrations, and a creative presentation.
U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Catherine Muller stated “The Let’s Go America! showcase is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about the United States or is eager to engage more with the U.S. Embassy here in Brunei. Whether you are looking towards furthering your education, want to learn more about U.S.-Brunei business prospects, are interested in being part of embassy-sponsored programs, or even if you have some questions about travelling to the United States, we would welcome your visit to the showcase!”
U.S. Embassy staff will be present to answer any questions the public has regarding higher education, travel, visa applications, business opportunities, and applying for programs offered by the U.S. government. Members of the Brunei-U.S. Association (BUSA) and Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) will also be available to share firsthand experience on travelling, studying, and living in the United States.
Let’s Go America! will officially launch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28 and will be open to the public daily until Sunday, October 30. For more information about the event, visit the embassy’s official website at https://brunei.usembassy.gov/.
