Segafredo Espresso Cafe recently opened its doors for business in the Sultanate. But apart from serving authentic Italian coffee, the café also serves plenty of Italian delicacies which are made with quality ingredients and presented with utmost care and attention to detail.

The café also serves a plethora of desserts ranging from gelato ice-creams to cakes and pastries. Not in the mood for coffee? The café also has juices, chocolate drinks and tea to quench one's thirst.

According to Segafredo Espresso Operational Manager and Grand Chef Barista of Asia, Hilja Nauvmovski, who recently arrived in the country to provide training and share his skills, techniques and experience with the newly-opened café, he explained that before serving any of the delicacies to their patrons, he will ensure that the food must be perfectly presentable as it will describe the person who prepares the food.

"Italians are very particular when they serve food, we must make sure that all is presented nicely and delightfully," he said.

"For Italians", he added, "they don't eat as much during breakfast. The usual food served during breakfast is usually pastries like Danish or croissants with either coffee or tea.

"As for lunch, usually during this time, most people are in a hurry therefore, they just grab a quick stuffed sandwich and fruit juice. Meanwhile in the evening, pasta, pizza, lasagne are among the choices for dinner."

Inspired by this idea and based on their experiences, Simon Joseph, Assistant Operational Manager to Chef IIija, who is also in the country said that, Segafredo Brunei will also, serve the same way, with choice given to patrons to have the opportunity to choose what type of delicacies they want.

"We prepared the ingredients following Italian recipes so that they will get a chance to taste real Italian food," said Simon Joseph. "Although some Italian ingredients are hard to find, we cannot just simply improvise or replace the ingredients with other items. If we do that, it will affect its authentic taste."
