It's not unusual to name your baby after a loved one, but it's less common to draw inspiration from your own moniker.
Well, two parents have caused quite the commotion after doing just that as people slammed the supposedly 'stupid' decision.
The creative pair, who presumably wanted to give their daughter a unique title, achieved their goal by combining their names to make a new one.
The couple opted to call their little girl Kevleigh, inspired by her dad, Kevin, and mum, Kellie, as it transpired when a photo of the baby's birthday cake was shared online.
Unfortunately, not everyone was so keen on the idea when the post made its way to Facebook group named 'That name isn't a tragedeigh, it's a murghdyrr', The Sun reports.
"Kevly wouldn't be that bad but…. Kevleigh eeee," read one unimpressed reply.
Someone else put: "That's HORRIBLE." A third thought: "But Kelvin was RIGHT there too."
But others defended the parents' approach or shared their own blended names.
"My name is Kerri - parents Kelly and Jerry. I think it worked out better for me," revealed one commenter.
Another wrote: "My mum is Leona and my sisters dad is Brian, they named my sister Briona and I always thought it was really unique until I searched her name on Facebook and found thousands of them."
It's not the first time a family advocated for a similar approach, either.
Previously, a dad sparked a fierce debate after insisting his daughter should name her newborn after him.
The mum-to-be wasn't convinced, however, as she said she would prefer not to name her little girl after her dad.
"My dad says I am horrible at choosing names. He says I haven't named my dogs correctly and that I won't give my daughter a fitting name either," she fumed.
Fortunately, social media users were more supportive in this instance and reassured the mum it was her choice to make.
