PH Beauty Wins Miss International 2016


Kylie Verzosa is sixth Filipina to claim the title

Miss Philippines Kylie Verzosa was crowned Miss International 2016 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday, October 27.

 

Verzosa is the sixth Filipina to win the Miss International crown.

She bested 70 other beauties from other countries in this year’s pageant.

 

The 2015 winner, Venezuela’s Edymar Martínez, passed the crown to the Filipina beauty queen.

 

The other winners were:

 

1st runner-up: Alexandra Britton (Miss Australia)

2nd runner-up: Felicia Hwang (Miss Indonesia)

3rd runner-up: Brianny Chamorro (Miss Nicaragua)

4th runner-up: Kaityrana Leinbach (Miss USA)

 

 

In her speech after winning the pageant, Verzosa said as the reigning Miss International, she will devote herself to “cultural understanding and international understanding.”

 

The five previous Miss International winners from the Philippines were: Bea Santiago in 2013, Precious Lara Quigaman in 2005, Mimilanie Marquez in 1979, Aurora Pijuan in 1970 and Gemma Cruz-Araneta in 1964. (With reports from Sandra O. Agno)
