​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, began a State Visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain and attended a Welcoming Ceremony; a Meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Signing Ceremony of Agreements; and a State Banquet. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. The Welcoming Ceremony was held at the Gudaibiya Palace, Manama. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted and accompanied to the Palace by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Majesty was welcomed upon arrival at the Gudaibiya Palace by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Ceremony began with both leaders proceeding to the Special Dais to receive the Salute of Honour accompanied by the National Anthems of both countries, and a twenty-one gun salute.

His Majesty was then introduced to Dignitaries from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Majesty King of the Kingdom of Bahrain was introduced to the official delegation from Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty then attended a Meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as members of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Following the Meeting, His Majesty and His Majesty King of the Kingdom of Bahrain witnessed the Signing Ceremony of six agreements between the Government of His Majesty and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain namely Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Kingdom of Bahrain on Political Consultation; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of The Kingdom of Bahrain in the Field of Women's Affairs;

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of The Kingdom of Bahrain on Cooperation in the Field of Media;

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of The Kingdom of Bahrain on Cultural Cooperation;

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Fields of General, Technical and Higher Education;

And Data Sovereignty Initiative.

In honour of the State Visit, the Monarch also attended the State Banquet hosted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was held at the Gudaibiya Palace. After the ceremony at Gudaibiya Palace, His Majesty also attended separate private functions namely a High Tea hosted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain and members of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Royal Family; and Dinner hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Before the Dinner, an informal meeting was held between His Majesty and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
